Nondestructive testing
- Pulsed Eddy Current - PEC,
- speedy detection measurement and monitoring of corrosion,
- steel pipes, vessels, objects, components,
- the inspection object is in service, insulation material does not need to be removed.
Specification of the testing
- We use – PEC- technique based on Pulsed Eddy Current
- PEC is the efficient and cost effective solution for the examination of insulated and corroded objects.
- We use equipment and know-how SONO PEC,
- detection and monitoring of corrosion, insulation material does not need to be removed,
- measuring through insulation coatings, paints, concrete fire proofing,
- technology does not need direct contacts, cleaning, special preparation of the surface – speedy inspection,
- insulation material does not need to be removed – cost saving,
- CUI – corrosion under insulation, Corrosion under Fireproofing-CUF, Flow accelerated Corrosion – FAC are typical succesful application,
- effective performance also for semi-contact measurement carried out with dirty, rough and high temperature objects.
SONO PEC equipment Specification
- steel, wall thickness range from 2-70 mm,
- object insulation thickness up to 200 mm,
- object temperature up to 500°C,
- pipe diameter larger than 2“,
- measurement deviation +/- 5%,
- repeatibility 98%,
- environmental temperature range -20°C +55°C,
- IP 65, battery power operated, robustness.
Robotic inspection crawler
- there is no need to build scaffolding,
- measuring hard to reach places,
- easily transport the probe over the surface,
- exact location of corrosion.
Measuring reports
- we obtain a corrosion map,
- get wall thiskness map,
- results in .xls files,
- we can create a stress model from the measured values.
Examples, reference
- gas storages, steel pipes,
- vessels, technological objects and components.
